Elder LeBaron Leaves for the MTC

The time is finally here that you've been waiting for for the last 3 months, your at the airport an hour before your flight leaves, and your ready to go... you get up to the ticket counter and Justin says "I'm on the 8:00 am Flight to Salt Lake City" and the ticketing agent says "We don't have a flight leaving at 8:00 am, the flight to Salt Lake left an hour and a half ago." and then everyone turns and looks at the Dad.."Why is everyone looking at me?"

There are only two ways something like this could happen..

1. The paternal parental figure who coordinated the flight times, must have somehow read the "Arrival" time as the "Departure" time, and mistakenly thought the plane Left at 8:00 a.m. when in reality it left at 6:40 a.m... or
2. The Lord really wanted Justin on a later flight for reasons that we don't currently understand.

I'm going with reason number 2

Anyway after calling Salt Lake and explaining the situation (and apologizing several times) they were able to work some magic and get him on a different flight that left at 9:07 with a short layover in Denver.

It is never easy seeing one of your children leave, but knowing that they are doing something that is right, and that has the potential to impact their lives and the lives of so many others for good makes it allot easier.

A father couldn't be more proud of his son than I am today...and I know that his Mother, and Stephen and Sarah all feel the same way... what a great way to start the Holiday that celebrates the real reason he is leaving.

  2. So very proud of your son as well Rich <3, much love to you and yours this blessed Holy Season. And btw, *same* thing happened with flight boo-boos when my sister and her family and me and my kids vacationed together in Florida a few years ago. ALL OF US SWORE we knew/memorized the flight times but when we showed up at the airport, we were off by hours! How could *ALL* of us be wrong?!? we thought. I'm going with the God explanation, mmmhmmm. :)
